MTP and SAP
The New Bern Area MPO is working on a new Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and Safety Action Plan (SAP).
What is a MTP? It identifies how the region will manage and operate a multi-modal transportation system to meet its economic, development, and sustainability goals.
What is a SAP? It focuses on reducing crashes that result in death or serious injury on all roads and for all modes of travel.
Developing the MTP and SAP simultaneously, contextualizes the multi-modal safety analysis within the New Bern region’s MTP goals.
