CARTS Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Fixed Route Changes
Notice of Public Hearing
On Proposed Changes to the CARTS Fixed Route (LOOP)
The Craven County transportation department, Craven Area Rural Transit System (CARTS), operates a fixed route system within New Bern, currently referred to as the LOOP. A fixed route is defined by the National Transit Database (NTD) as “services provided on a repetitive, fixed schedule basis along a specific route with vehicles stopping to pick up and deliver passengers to specific locations; each fixed route trip serves the same origins and destinations…”
CARTS has proposed changes to the current fixed route system. Riders and the general public are welcome to review the proposed fixed route system changes and participate in a public hearing held as part of the Craven County Board of Commissioner’s meeting on July 6, 2021. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and is held in the Craven County Administration Building, 406 Craven Street, New Bern, North Carolina.
Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxiliary aids or services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact CARTS on or before July 2, 2021, at telephone number 252-636-4917 or email at carts@cravencountync.gov.
The documents regarding the proposed changes may be inspected at 2822 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. normal business days or on the CARTS website: http://www.cravencountync.gov/omnibus.
